My Favorite Anime
Digimon Adventure 02
I know a lot of people hate this season/show. I actually adore it. Especially for elements a lot of people hate. Mostly the bromance between Davis/Daisuke and Ken. I really connect to their relationship and even more as an adult.
Davis is incredibly cringe at the start. He is a bad leader who is easily jealous and a touch misogynistic regarding Hi/Kari. Ken is the straight up first villain, though this also ends up being for sad/messed up background reasonss.
Once Ken stops being a badguy, the two characters with the worst personalities bond and become much better people. They also have a lot of cute moments which means they get shipped alot (Daiken). I'm pretty ambivalent. That said, the intent of the show is probably more platonic as its a kids show and even now Japan rarely has queer protagonists in kid's action cartoons.
Maybe its weird to relate, but I think my partner and I are worse people without eachother. We are both flawed people. Especially as kids when we had no coping skills and limited emotional intelligence. Our parents were not great people. We had to develop healthy communication skills on our own, with eachother.
We also vibed pretty quickly, like Ken and Davis.
Digimon Tamers
Digimon Tamers, aka the best written of the shows.
I don't relate to any one charcter, however the storytelling and charcter arcs are so engrossing. Tamers is much more about the long haul than the previous shows and paying attention to early episodes pays off much more in later ones.
